Meet our Service Manager
Glen Seela
Glen’s career journey is rooted in a passion for hands-on work and a drive for continuous learning. In high school, he dreamed of becoming the next Boyd Coddington, inspired by his love for cars and the automotive world. While he initially dabbled in auto mechanics, he ultimately decided that his passion was best kept for his own projects. After a brief stint in the printing industry, he realized his father was right: printing was a dying trade. Remembering his love for working with his hands, Glen discovered HVAC service, a field that allowed him to turn wrenches while providing stability and growth opportunities. This path has since transformed into a fulfilling career, blending his skills and passions in ways he never expected.
Glen’s core philosophy centers on accountability and dependability. He takes ownership of every task, believing that a strong sense of responsibility is key to success. His professional milestones span multiple industries—from managing a prepress department in printing to becoming a Service Manager at UPM Mechanical. His journey through roles like night plant manager and customer service manager in printing laid the foundation for his transition into HVAC. By his second year as an apprentice, he was already managing a 5-building campus, setting him on a fast track to leadership.
To stay at the forefront of the HVAC industry, Glen embraces smart technologies, invests in team education, and prioritizes customer engagement. He values building industry partnerships and adapting to market changes. As a manager, the most rewarding part of his job is seeing his team reach their potential. Watching their growth and celebrating their collective success fuels his daily motivation.
Glen’s professional challenges, especially transitioning from one industry to another, have helped him grow immensely. This shift required him to adapt quickly, often stepping outside his comfort zone. His definition of career success includes balancing personal and professional goals, building strong relationships, achieving financial stability, and making a positive impact. His go-to motto, “Your word is your most valuable asset; you must work to keep it!” reflects his commitment to integrity in all aspects of his life.
His long-term vision in the HVAC industry centers on people. He aims to create a welcoming work environment where team members can learn, grow, and feel valued. By mentoring young people in HVAC and fostering diversity, Glen seeks to leave a lasting impact on the field. What sets him apart is his commitment to continuous learning, which keeps him at the forefront of industry trends. His adaptability, combined with a passion for the HVAC industry, drives him to implement innovative strategies that create meaningful change.
To those entering the industry, Glen advises starting with a solid apprenticeship, seeking mentorship, and maintaining versatility. He believes that building problem-solving skills and staying updated on new technologies are crucial for success. If he weren’t in HVAC, you’d likely find him building race cars and monster trucks, continuing to satisfy his love for hands-on work.
Glen’s career adventure began with a leap of faith—reaching out to his brother for an opportunity that initially looked like a short-term gig but became his longest tenure with a contractor. That three-week job on the construction side led him to the HVAC service department, where he continues to grow and make an impact today.
